What awaits you as a SICA member

Section membership in SICA will bring you closer to the ASPA community, which is the leading interdisciplinary public service organization advancing the art, science, pedagogy, and practice of public administration and global governance.

Our section will help you build your professional global networks. It will promote your work, or help you acquire knowledge, skills, and necessary experiences to be exceptional public servants and researchers. We have a long history of gathering outstanding leaders who guide their practice by the public values of equity, peaceful coexistence, internationalization, and sustainability.

Your SICA membership and engagement will provide numerous additional benefits to your ASPA membership, including forums for practitioners, instructors, and researchers to share experiences and reflect on the field's challenges worldwide.

SICA members get to be part of the Ferrel Heady Roundtable. The Ferrel Heady Roundtable is convened annually at the ASPA conference. It features notable scholars discussing their careers and research in a workshop format designed to allow students, academics, and other participants to interact with giants in the field.

As a member, you can get access to and participate in SICA´s Occasional Paper Series, a peer-reviewed publication examining the latest issues in comparative public administration, along with a periodic newsletter highlighting the activities of SICA and its members.

Membership is open to anyone working in, studying, researching, or interested in public service. To join SICA, sign up for an ASPA membership and add SICA to your basket. On the Dues and Section Renewal page, you can select your ASPA membership type, local chapter (for local engagement with ASPA), and your section of choice. Then on the Sections page, you can choose membership for SICA for an additional $40.
